Starting from the early 1970s the world began to recognize the massive problem of climate change. With the rapid growth of urban populations, the impact of global warming has grown stronger, especially in cities. The masses of metal, glass, and concrete make them warmer than other landscapes, and both water shortages and severe air pollution negatively affect people’s lives.

The Paris Climate Accords of 2015 set the ambitious goal for global society to limit the temperature increase to 1.5° C. As the problem itself is very complex, there are multiple ways to do it, and one of them is reducing carbon in the atmosphere. Under the agreement, many countries decided to pursue a carbon-neutral policy.

As of November 2021, 193 countries have signed the agreement, including China. The Chinese government announced that the country would strive to reach peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. In 2022 the UN reported that China had decreased its greenhouse gas emissions faster than the rest of the world. Considering the nation is the fastest developing country, this is an astonishing achievement.

To support both the Chinese government and the global community in 2019 Weitai started researching and developing green machines and travel devices. Currently, our environmentally friendly product series include zero-emission electric skid steer loaders, electric excavators, and some electric travel devices, such as excavator travel motors, and this is just the beginning. As wise Laozi said, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". If all of us can contribute to reducing carbon emissions on different levels, our planet will become a better place to live.
